Climbing roses generally are mutations or variations of bush or hybrid tea varieties of roses. These varieties produce extra-long canes that continue to grow, allowing them to be easily manipulated into growing up or around a surface.
All climbing roses are delivered bare root in January, potted and ready for sale/pickup in March. They may be purchased online and picked up in store, and tend to sell out quickly.
We’ve added some petals, increased the flower count per cluster and improved the flower production to create a year round exquisite show. Apricot-yellow buds open to shallowly cupped, many petalled rosettes. They are a beautiful blend of subtle apricot-pink and soft yellow, giving the overall impression of apricot, with creamy outer petals. There is a superb floral myrrh fragrance, with hints of honey and Tea. It forms a short, vigorous climber. The name was inspired by the heroine of Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd. The tropical warmth comes in the form of rich sunset-like orange while the dazzling lightning is generated by bright cream stipes. A wonderfully fragrant climber – its strong, warm myrrh fragrance has intense hints of citrus. The buds have attractive flashes of red, open to beautifully rounded, chalice-shaped blooms of pale apricot, eventually paling to cream.
